Job Description
Senior Continuous Improvement Manager
Responsible for driving change by assessing the effectiveness of business processes and working closely with both the engineering and departmental teams to increase throughput, efficiencies, and reduce cost. Ensures the engineering team and other departments work together cohesively in the development and improvement of equipment and processes utilizing Lean processes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage a team of engineers to support 3 facilities including DC operations and Late Point Kitting in a 24/7 environment
- Develop and manage continuous improvement and cost savings projects, accountable to coordinate cross-functional resources, as well as monitoring, meeting, and reporting project deliverables
- Prepare reports and statistics of strategic costs; cost-out initiatives; various planned process improvements; new product introductions and various others
- Build the skills of all Functional leaders and associates through hands-on interactions and personal mentoring in lean management tools, cultural change leadership and strategy deployment
- Design and improve new and existing process flows to meet increased annual demand
- Diagram the flow (including inputs and outputs) of manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities for improvements
- Create and track multiple parallel projects
- Ensure alignment across the organizational on safety and resource requirements for all projects as well as ensuring all changes are fully integrated
- Provide feedback and insight to associates via follow-up evaluations of various improvement processes that have been implemented
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols
- Work closely with the CI Engineering team
- Familiar with engineering drawings, specifications and their interpretations
Education/Experience/Knowledge Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; Quality Management; Production & Operations Management
- Three or more years leading an engineering team
- Five or more years with business process design in continuous improvement efforts; business management skills; process management; and manufacturing processes
- Excellent project management skills with a strong history of execution and delivery
