Job Description

The Scheduler/Expeditor is responsible for executing the production plan and order materials to support.

Due to the nature of this position, interaction with all departments throughout the organization is common in addition to corporate interaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute the production plan
  • Actively participate in production meetings to review priorities, capacity constraints, and discuss current/future production planning
  • Production Order management
    • Distribute Production Orders to Gatekeepers and Leads
    • Review and maintain Bill of Materials
    • Coordinate Engineering Change Notices
    • Troubleshoot RAF issues
    • Maintain production orders (i.e.: add/delete, date/quantity changes, transfer/add/reverse)
  • Purchase Order Management
  • Proactively identify and mitigate all supply disruptions
  • Release, confirm, expedite, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders for part numbers assigned, managing all day-to-day activities ensuring data integrity
  • Order MRO related materials
  • Coordinate the return of non-conforming raw materials to suppliers
  • Reconcile accounts payable issues
  • Implement inventory management and control best practices
  • Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, initiating cycle count activity
  • Coordinate intercompany material transfers
  • Develop production run strategies and WIP buffer inventory
  • Evaluate safety stock for WIP and raw materials
  • Collaborate with suppliers on Kanban, VMI, Vending, and Consigned Inventory
  • Collaborate with Operations on Kanban, visual management and replenishment
  • Complete scrap transactions in the System for Conversions
  • As required, back up Leads and train others
  • Super User and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for High Jump, Microsoft AX and material processes and procedures

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Requires education equivalent to four years of high school; two-year degree preferred
  • Must have 3-5 years direct or indirect experience in a manufacturing scheduling role
  • Working knowledge in MS Office
  • Ability to skillfully navigate in WMS and ERP systems
  • Strong organizational skills and stellar attention to detail are essential
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
