Job Summary:

Overall responsibility for Vietnam manufacturing operations management and daily operations. Hire, develop and lead Cross Functional Teams to establish new factory and grow operation profitably. Achieve successful, cost effective launch of new designs into production. Provide leadership to ensure company objectives are met in all key areas, including but not limited to: cost, materials, quality, working capital, and logistics


This position is located in our TTI location in Vietnam.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Operations leader to recruit and develop team for new factory and operation in Vietnam
  • Lead factory renovation, start-up, permitting, and importation of equipment from China, and successful start-up of production
  • Develop processes, systems and establish culture of continuous improvement in all areas of the operation.
  • Lead localization efforts of direct material and indirect materials in Vietnam
  • Lead the operation and new product development team to achieve company goals with aim to increase profit, lead times, quality, and safety
  • Responsibility for the factories P&L, Budget control and achievement
  • Enhance Quality manufacturing mindset throughout the organization
  • Determine organization objectives, policies and programs and sets standards and targets together with functional heads
  • Review the efficiency and effectiveness of operating functions regularly, and recommend improvement plans, if needed
  • Ensure company abides by local laws/regulation and work closely with local authorities on issues of concern
  • Provide knowledge on product and process development and improvement to train up personnel
  • Deliver 5% annual productivity goal
  • Manage all the daily operations that take place in the factory
  • Ensure safety rules enforced in the factory, target ZERO injury
  • Other ad hoc project assigned by management


Job Specification/Scope:

A. Education / Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years related operations of which at least 5 years in similar position as Factory Manager or Director of Operation, gained in multinational corporations
  • Degree holder in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline. MBA would be an asset
  • Leadership, Analytical and Strategic Competencies important
  • Knowledge of labor relations, EHS, regulatory and government agencies
  • Strong Knowledge of Material Requirements planning ( MRP)
  • Strong knowledge / understanding of manufacturing & Quality processes (GMP/ISO-9000, MRPII, JIT, Kan-Ban, SPC, AQL, etc.)
  • Strong Factory financials, P&L, and product costing understanding and experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing workforce optimization
  • Proven experience in process enhancements and automation to optimize headcount
  • Negotiation Skills

B. Special Knowledge / Skills / Training

  • Successful experience with start-up and growth of factory
  • Experience with Machining, Molding, Mechanical & Electronic Assembly operations of consumer product
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English. Mandarin a plus
  • Familiar with ERP and financial reporting systems
  • Should be cost conscious, hands on, analytical and a team leader
  • Should possess sound business acumen and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Frequent Travel required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Aggressive personality who is willing to take on challenges, function under high pressure and make extra efforts if needed
  • Ability to build a team from ground up and instill culture needed, not just manage an existing team
  • Being creative in finding a solution to a problem if traditional approach does not work
  • Open to new ideas and cultures on how to run and manage a factory
