Spare Parts Technician


Duties and Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Manufacturing Services Manager or Quality Engineer, perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions as necessitated by the manufacturing services or Quality department.

- Physical ability to lift and move material for storage. Boxes or containers may be up to 40 lbs.

- Analytical ability to interpret technical documents.

- Good problem-solving skills

- Meets cultural expectations

- Maintain the MRO system

- Maintain MRO spreadsheets and documents.

- Order MRO supplies based on our replenishment system.

- Maintain the MRO cage. Housekeeping and organization

- Receive MRO supplies for the plant

- Enter, maintain and review computer file information for vendors and quotes. Keep files of supplier and pricing information. Enter, maintain and acknowledge purchase orders.

- Prepare and distribute a variety of PC-generated correspondence including preparation of RFQ's and weekly status reports. Prepare monthly manufacturing and department performance reports.

- Prepare data/analysis spreadsheets, reports and graphics as requested. Prepare various monthly reports of purchases and expenses for management review.

- Perform a variety of miscellaneous department duties including preventive maintenance schedules; distribute and document PM completion, order office supplies.

- This position interfaces with maintenance and tool room personnel, production team leaders, and supervisors.

- Physical ability to lift and move material for storage. Boxes or containers may be up to 40 lbs.

CMM= Coordinate Measuring Machine

ECN=Engineering Change Notice

EI=Engineering Instruction

MOC=Management of Change


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Perform work within takt/cycle time

- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

- Use basic software applications.

- Prepare and maintain required reports.

- Understand safety requirements.

- Recognize lean/5S best practices and keep work area in an organized manner.



Education and Experience Requirements

- Requires education equivalent to four years of high school and up to one year of experience to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.

- PC literacy required in word-processing and excel spreadsheets is mandatory.

- Also requires use of Dynamics AX.
