Job Description

The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the life cycle and the continuous flow of products coming through the facility. This position works directly with engineers to end users to identify underperforming areas in the processes and suggest improvements or resolutions to problems. This role will be responsible for examining workflow and utilizing analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and streamline business processes. The goal of this position is to help Milwaukee Tool increase cash flows, inventory turns, efficiency, and employee productivity and accuracy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and present new processes for continuous improvement to senior leadership teams by designing, producing, and analyzing monthly logistics and supply chain metrics
  • Develop reports as needed to support the business
  • Compose data entry and spreadsheets on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to support processes in Inventory, Service Order Management and Production as described below.

Inventory Support

  • Analysis of fill rates, cycle counts, inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, location ties, and production schedules
  • Manage AX/HJ Discrepancies and Root Cause Problems
  • Manage and optimize forward pick locations in High Jump
  • Communicate risks related to inventory and supply plans in terms of lead time, monthly averages, and capacity constraints for products
  • Work with inventory group to optimize slotting/heat mapping
  • Conduct quarterly aged inventory reviews

Service Order Support

  • Stage Change Analysis -- identify bottle necks in process using AX stage change data.
  • Red tote in/out consolidation analysis
  • Turn Time analytics, customer door-to-door, time in-house
  • FedEx shipping times and surcharge analysis

Production Support

  • Repair volume analysis, volume by customer, common failures
  • Tool routings analysis by product time studies
  • Cost of second time returns
  • Chargeable vs non-chargeable repairs
  • Replacement tool analysis by tool group, employee

 

 

  • Other duties as required and assigned
  • May be required to work other shifts and/or overtime to support the business needs

 

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Undergraduate Degree in the fields of Business, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or other related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact well with team members at all levels
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, cloud-based platforms and Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and High Jump
  • Experienced with shipping and receiving processes, logistics and supply chain management
  • Knowledge of SQL Queries
  • Advanced computer literacy skills
  • Outstanding organizational ability
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
