Job Description

Verifies carbide blade processing at various stages of production to ensure that jobs are produced with the highest level of quality assurance protocols and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge on gages, analyze fixtures, sampling and inspection plans, and error proofing methods & devices needed to achieve control
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed
  • Follow protocols for documenting testing results
  • Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by the department
  • Must work effectively in team environments, communicating and participating in a constructive manner
  • Assist with sorting on hold products

Criteria for Success:

  • Communicate effectively with all co-workers
  • Basic knowledge with drawings, specifications, inspection and department procedures
  • Ability to learn and operate mechanical inspection equipment such as O-Select, micrometers, pin gages, and OGP
  • Effective use of microscope for inspection of workmanship defects
  • Ability to document and maintain inspection records

Technical Expertise:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical inspection experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical inspection methods
  • Understanding of geometric tolerancing and methods of verification
  • Basic knowledge of SPC control and application to quality control plans but not mandatory
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Metallurgy lab experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to work independently. High level of self-initiative
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
  • Regular attendance is required
