Job Description

Responsible for receiving, storing and distributing materials and equipment. Ensures correct delivery and shipment of materials to internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, etc. to stage materials and load trucks
  • Unpacks and confirms incoming non-stock receipts checking for correct item, quantity and free of damage
  • Communicates with shipper to rectify shortages/damages
  • Receive and distribute incoming packages and mail
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Provide and process movement of material to point of use, including delivery
  • Responsible for planning for returns of items to suppliers
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track purchase orders
  • Read and interpret work instructions and engineering prints.
  • May be required to make pick-ups and deliveries using company vehicle
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Disposing of empty boxes and cardboard, as well as keeping material around the assembly line in order and neat
  • Prepares product orders for shipment according to work instructions
  • Verifies the correct product and qty's are shipping
  • Follows order processing procedures utiliaing the ERP system and shipping software
  • Communicates shipping issues effectively and in a timly fashion
  • Assist in other areas of manufacturing during periods of slow volume
  • Able to work extended hours to accommodate changes in daily volume that may be required
  • Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area
  • Requests are completed with a good attitude and by needed deadlines
  • May be assigned special projects and other duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Is able to think independently and work without direction
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Maintains a positive attitude and remains flexible to changing work environments

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in material handling preferred
