Sr. Project Engineer – Power Tools Test Lab
The Senior Project Engineer – Power Tool Test Lab is responsible for managing multiple moderate to highly complex projects with minimal direction. Individuals in this position will provide project management and necessary direction to assure successful and timely implementation of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership over moderate to highly complex lab projects.
- Review workload of project team members and assess risk to schedule, cost, and performance.
- Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
- Accountable for maintaining Lab process data, project details, and schedule information.
- Communicate project updates to leadership and engineering at regular intervals.
- Comply with all METCo procedures covering product development and design output in addition to procedures of non-engineering departments related to project flow.
- Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with very little guidance.
- Schedules, develops agendas, facilitates, and documents project meetings.
- Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.
- May occasionally recommend changes to existing standards and procedures.
- Does not have formal supervisory responsibilities, although will provide input for performance appraisals on cross functional project team members. Also oversees day-to-day activities of project team members.
- Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans.
- Align Lab processes across North America and Global labs.
- Coordinate with NA test labs on global initiatives.
- Align design to fulfill cost, timing, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate progress, design, project, and safety reviews as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree.
- Minimum 5 years in related field.
- Successfully managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects.
- Must have a working design knowledge of a wide variety of the technologies associated with Milwaukee products.
- Understanding of data structures, processes, and metrics in lab operations.
- Must be able to personally conduct detailed analyses, recognize the need and seek the appropriate expertise to achieve the desired results.
- Proficient in the use of project planning software.
